Raju is the only child of a wealthy widower. Because he grows up without his biological mother, he desperately longs for maternal affection.
His father eventually marries Laxmi, believing that she will give Raju the love and care he has always wanted. Raju becomes completely devoted to his stepmother and treats her as his real mother.
However, Laxmi's affection is only an act. She is primarily interested in controlling Raju and eventually acquiring the family's wealth. She deliberately keeps Raju dependent on her and manipulates him through his unconditional love.
Years later, Raju marries Saraswati. Unlike her husband, Saraswati is observant and quickly realizes that something is wrong with Laxmi's behavior.
She discovers that Laxmi has been manipulating Raju and working toward taking control of his property. Saraswati decides to confront her and reveal the truth.
The conflict becomes a battle between a son's blind devotion to his mother and a wife's determination to protect her husband.
The soundtrack was composed primarily by Anand–Milind, with lyrics by Sameer.
