Shekhar is a young singer living in Darjeeling. He is cheerful, talented, and completely removed from the criminal world.
However, Shekhar has an extraordinary resemblance to Mike, a notorious gangster operating in Calcutta's Chinatown.
The police realize that Shekhar can be used to infiltrate Mike's criminal organization. He is therefore persuaded to take Mike's place and pretend to be the gangster.
Shekhar enters the dangerous world of Chinatown, where he encounters criminals, secret dealings, nightclub performers, and people connected with Mike.
The challenge is that Shekhar must maintain his false identity without revealing that he is actually an undercover man.
At the same time, his romantic relationship with Rita develops, adding another complication to his dangerous mission.
As Shekhar becomes more deeply involved in the criminal organization, he must constantly distinguish between friends and enemies while trying to uncover the truth.
The suspense builds around the question of whether Shekhar will be able to maintain his disguise long enough for the police to bring the criminals to justice.
