Raageshwari was born as Raageshwari Loomba on 25 July 1977 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She began her career as a model and became a familiar face in Indian advertising and music videos during the 1990s.
She made her film debut with Mera Dil Tere Liye (1992). She subsequently appeared in films including Aankhon Mein Tum Ho (1997), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Tum Mere Ho and Dil Aashna Hai. Her performances were particularly associated with the youthful romantic films of the 1990s.
