Ajay is particularly recognized for his powerful and expressive singing style. Some of his popular songs include “Deva Shree Ganesha,” “Yad Lagla,” “Sairat Jhala Ji,” “Zingaat,” “Mauli Mauli,” “Lallati Bhandar,” “Pehli Baar” and “Dhadak Title Track.”Ajay Gogavale was born on 21 August 1976 in Pune, Maharashtra. He is the younger brother of composer and musician Atul Gogavale. The brothers grew up in different parts of western Maharashtra because their father, Ashok Gogavale, worked in the Revenue Department and had a transferable job.
Ajay and Atul developed an interest in music during their school years. Without a traditional musical background or expensive equipment, they learned through school programs, temples, local bands and experimentation with different musical instruments. Their early work included arrangements, commercial jingles, advertisements, plays and private music projects.
Together, Ajay and Atul established themselves as one of India's prominent composer duos. They received the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the Marathi film Jogwa in 2008. They later composed music for major Marathi and Hindi films including Singham, Agneepath, Sairat, Dhadak and several other successful productions.
As a singer, Ajay has lent his voice to many of the duo's compositions. His energetic vocals have become an important part of the Ajay–Atul musical identity. His work includes Marathi hits as well as Hindi film songs, and music platforms continue to list new recordings and releases under his name.
