Laadla (1994) Songs Lyrics
Laadla is a 1994 Hindi drama film directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Nitin Manmohan. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Raveena Tandon in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Aruna Irani, Prem Chopra, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor in supporting roles. The story revolves around Raju, a strong-willed union leader, and Sheetal, the headstrong daughter of a wealthy industrialist who manages a factory.
The film explores themes of family, pride, workplace conflict, love, marriage, and personal transformation. Raju fights for the rights of factory workers, bringing him into conflict with Sheetal. Their relationship changes dramatically when Sheetal decides to marry him, intending to teach him a lesson. The experience eventually leads both characters to reconsider their attitudes and priorities.
The soundtrack was composed by Anand–Milind, with lyrics by Sameer. Songs such as “Mere Ghulam Tera,” “Meri Dhadkan Suno,” and other tracks from the film became part of its musical identity.
About the Movie Laadla (1994)
Laadla was directed by Raj Kanwar, with a screenplay by Anees Bazmee and production by Nitin Manmohan. The film was made in Hindi and is a remake of the 1986 Kannada film Anuraga Aralithu.
The central character, Raj “Raju” Verma, is a caring son and a workers' union leader who stands up for the employees of a textile factory. Sheetal Jetley, played by Sridevi, is a powerful and ambitious factory owner whose strong personality frequently puts her at odds with Raju. Their clashes eventually lead to marriage, after which Sheetal gradually undergoes a change in outlook. Raveena Tandon plays Kaajal, while Anupam Kher portrays Sheetal's father, Laxminarayan Jetley.
Sridevi's portrayal of Sheetal was particularly noted, and she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress. Raveena Tandon was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The film was commercially successful and was among the notable Hindi releases of 1994.
