Khiladi is a 1992 Hindi action-thriller film directed by the filmmaking duo Abbas–Mustan and produced by Girish Jain and Champak Jain. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori and Sabeeha, with Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor, Tinnu Anand and Anant Mahadevan in supporting roles. The music was composed by Jatin–Lalit.
The story follows four young friends who decide to play a practical joke by pretending to kidnap Sheetal, the daughter of wealthy businessman Kailash Nath. What begins as a harmless game soon turns into a dangerous mystery when the supposed kidnapping becomes connected to a real murder. Raj Malhotra, played by Akshay Kumar, becomes determined to uncover the truth and identify the real culprit.
Khiladi combines suspense, mystery, action, romance and comedy, and is particularly important in Akshay Kumar's career because it became his breakthrough film and established his image as an action star.
The film begins with four college friends — Raj, Bonny, Lucky and Boney's friends — who enjoy playing games, making bets and challenging one another.
Raj Malhotra, played by Akshay Kumar, is confident, adventurous and fond of taking risks. His friends share his playful nature, and together they decide to create an elaborate practical joke.
They select Sheetal Nath, the daughter of wealthy businessman Kailash Nath, as the target of their prank. The friends telephone Kailash Nath and falsely claim that his daughter has been kidnapped. They demand a large ransom and plan to reveal the joke later.
However, their plan takes an unexpected turn when the supposed kidnapping is followed by a real murder.
Suddenly, what began as a game becomes a serious criminal investigation. The friends realize that someone has used their prank as part of a much more dangerous plan.
Raj refuses to remain silent. He begins investigating the circumstances surrounding the crime and tries to determine who is responsible.
During the investigation, Raj becomes romantically involved with Neelam Chaudhary, played by Ayesha Jhulka. Their relationship develops while Raj continues searching for the truth.
The police become suspicious of the group because they were involved in the original fake kidnapping. Raj and his friends therefore have to prove that they were only playing a prank and had nothing to do with the actual crime.
As Raj investigates further, he discovers that several people connected to the victim have motives and secrets of their own. The mystery becomes increasingly complicated, with false clues and hidden identities making it difficult to determine who is responsible.
Raj eventually pieces together the evidence and identifies the real culprit. The truth behind the murder and the kidnapping scheme is finally revealed, allowing the innocent characters to clear their names.
The film concludes with the mystery being solved and Raj's courage and determination helping expose the criminal.

Khiladi explores:
The film's central idea is that a seemingly harmless game can have serious consequences when it becomes entangled with real criminal activity.
Khiladi became a surprise box-office hit and played a major role in establishing Akshay Kumar as an action-oriented leading actor. Bollywood Hungama reported that the film was released on 5 June 1992 and became a surprise success; it also marked an important breakthrough for the careers of Akshay Kumar and the director duo Abbas–Mustan.
The film also established the Khiladi title as an important part of Akshay Kumar's career. It was the first of a series of films carrying the Khiladi name, although the subsequent films largely feature unrelated stories.
The combination of mystery, action, comedy, romance and a youthful cast helped the film stand out among early-1990s Hindi thrillers.
