About the Movie Lamhe (1991)

Lamhe follows Viren (Anil Kapoor), a young man who falls deeply in love with Pallavi (Sridevi) during his stay in Rajasthan. However, Pallavi is already in love with Siddharth and eventually marries him. Viren returns to London heartbroken.

Years later, Pallavi and her husband die in an accident, leaving behind their young daughter Pooja. Viren takes responsibility for Pooja's upbringing, although he remains emotionally attached to Pallavi's memory. About two decades later, Viren returns to India and meets the grown-up Pooja, who bears a striking resemblance to her mother. Pooja develops romantic feelings for Viren, creating an unusual emotional conflict for him.

The film explores unrequited love, generational relationships, sacrifice, family bonds and the passage of time. Sridevi's dual performance as mother and daughter is one of the film's most distinctive features. The music was composed by Shiv-Hari, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi.
